Dave
So FS1 is going to be repeating Smackdown at 10.30 pm for west coast viewers right after the extra half hour for the Sasha v Becky match in order to ensure Rampage has competition for the entire hour it is on.
With the extra half hour on FS1, this is definitely going to hurt the overall rating given typically Smackdown on FS1 gets half the network TV viewers and the additional half hour is in a later time slot.
Dave says this is being done in light of the recent news coverage including the Variety article which is pushing AEW as a genuine competitor to WWE. WWE want to show Fox that in case they are thinking of going with AEW when their current deal is up, AEW is not going to do better numbers than what they are currently getting with Smackdown.
Dave reckons the half hour of Smackdown on FS1 will beat Rampage this week. He was slightly baffled as to why Danielson v Suzuki was being put on the YouTube buy-in show when it could have been used instead of the Bunny v Ruby Soho and the America's Top Team match.
On NXT, Dave says WWE is very conscious that their main roster has a lot of stars over 40 which is part of the reason for the new direction of NXT 2.0 so they can get 20 somethings to TV faster.
