It was not good news for Impact Wrestling on Friday, as this week’s ratings dropped to an all-time low. Thursday’s episode brought in a 0.01 in the 18 – 49 demographic and 101,000 viewers. The rating dropped a staggering 0.04, down 80%, from last week’s 0.05. Meanwhile, the viewership was also down heavily, off 19% from last week’s 125,000. The previous ratings low was a 0.02 on December 14th of last year, while the audience was the lowest since the October 25th episode had 98,000.

There’s no obvious answer for why Impact took such a heavy hit, as there wasn’t anything that did a huge jump in the ratings compared to last week. However, with Impact’s comparatively low ratings it is very possible that something rising an average amount could have took a serious toll. For example, this week’s Thursday Night Football was up 0.3 from a 4.7 to a 5.0, which could have contributed (especially considering the similar demographics).

On WOR Dave Meltzer was talking about Impact viewership on the Pursuit channel and the number was apparently 12 250 which is ridiculously low. The Twitch show peaks at little under 10 000 viewers most week so the combined viewership is around 20 000.

Per PW Insider, court documents in the Global Force vs. Impact legal battle agree that master copies for all 16 hours of GFW’s never-broadcast TV show Amped were deleted while in Impact’s possession. Jeff Jarrett wants the $4.8 million he says they were worth. Impact says they deleted them in the “normal course of business” so they could “free up storage space.”

Scott D’Amore, while speaking to PWInsider.com following the AAA press conference last week in Madison Square Garden, said the current hope is to find a new TV home for Impact on a larger platform by this Fall. If and when that happens, secondary Impact programming will pop up on Pursuit Channel (think Xplosion, etc) with the mothership series being placed elsewhere. Impact owner Anthem has a big ownership stake in Pursuit.

There has been a push of late to spend more money on marketing and promoting the company as they've had more money coming in.
