Renee Young to serve as guest commentator on Monday Night Raw

As Renee Young records her second day of commentary for the Mae Young Classic in Orlando on Thursday, as part of the first WWE commentary team with two women alongside Beth Phoenix, she's set to make more history this coming Monday night.

With Jonathan Coachman out fulfilling another obligation, Young will serve as a guest commentator for the final episode of Monday Night Raw leading into SummerSlam.

Young will be a part of the broadcast team for entirety of the three-hour broadcast, working alongside play-by-play announcer Michael Cole and color commentator Corey Graves.

"I believe this is the first time ever that we have had a woman in the booth for an entire episode of Monday Night RAW," Cole told ESPN.

"When Michael told me, I was like, 'This Monday?! What are you talking about?!'," Young said. "I am so excited for this opportunity. To be sitting with Cole, who has been such a great champion of mine since I've been working for WWE, it's going to be really cool."

Before working on the Mae Young Classic, Young served in a variety of roles throughout her WWE career. For the last several years she's been one of the primary interviewers on Raw and SmackDown, as well as the primary anchor for pay-per-view Kickoff Shows and the post-pay-per-view shows "Talking Smack" and "Raw Talk".

Young previously served as part of the NXT broadcast team alongside a variety of other commentators, which is also where Graves got his start with WWE.

"Renee has broken barriers all over the place." Cole said. "She's reaching out and doing things that would have never been dreamed of 10 years ago."

Prior to joining WWE, Young worked for The Score Television Network in Canada and worked on pro wrestling-related content on a show called "Aftermath", which featured a variety of other voices including current NXT commentator Mauro Ranallo.

ovo je super, Renee je bila odlična na Superstars i NXTu, nadam se da je neće trema uhvatiti kao u početku dok je bila komentatorka prije u 2014. godini!

Kad bi ostala to bi bilo fantastično, Graves/Renee je tandem samo takav.

Nisam optimističan, fenomenalan je interviewer, to treba i ostati, do sad se nije snalazila kao komentator.

On Dean Ambrose’s health scare: “He ended up having to go back in and have another surgery on his arm. He tore his tricep and went in for surgery in December and I remember him calling me New Year’s Day during a show in Miami. RAW was in Miami. His arm was bleeding everywhere. He woke up and there was blood all over the bed. He was so confused by all that had happened, not being able to fully get a look at what’s going on with his arm. He kinda kept bandaging it up trying to make it heal as quickly as possible, to reseal this opening that had happened in his arm. He eventually had to go back to Birmingham, which is where he had his surgery initially, just for a check in and that’s when they realized his infection had escalated a lot. They had go back in, clean it out. He was on antibiotics for months. It was really scary just knowing the severity of staph infection, of MRSA. It’s an eye opener. It’s really tough to see somebody you love go through something like that, especially somebody like Dean who’s this indestructible force and to see him down and out with something like that, it was tough to go through.”
